China Holiday Shipping Delays 2026

China holiday shipping delays in 2026: review Mid-Autumn and National Day shipping windows, and confirm metal order production and dispatch with NiTiCu.

As the Mid-Autumn Festival and China’s National Day approach, we would like to inform our customers in advance about the upcoming public holidays and their possible impact on export shipments from China.

These two holidays are very close to each other in 2026. For international buyers, especially customers waiting for metal materials, custom-made products or urgent shipments, we strongly recommend confirming production and shipping arrangements as early as possible.

According to China’s official 2026 public holiday schedule, the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday will be from September 25 to September 27, while the National Day holiday will be from October 1 to October 7. September 28, 29 and 30 are normal working days between the two holidays. September 20 and October 10 are adjusted working days.

Oct. 1–7National Day HolidayCustoms clearance and logistics heavily affected

It is important to clarify that China Customs is not closed continuously for 13 days.

The period from September 25 to October 7 covers 13 calendar days, but there are three normal working days — September 28, 29 and 30 — between the two official holidays.

During the official holiday periods, customs authorities maintain necessary duty arrangements, but normal commercial customs clearance should not be expected to operate at the same capacity as on regular working days. More importantly, customs brokers, trucking companies, export warehouses, freight forwarders and factories may reduce staffing or temporarily stop normal operations.

Therefore, even when some customs services are technically available, ordinary export shipments may still be difficult to arrange.

This is the main reason why China National Day shipping delays can affect international orders more seriously than the official holiday dates alone suggest.

What Does This Mean for Your Shipment?

For most export orders, goods must pass through several steps before leaving China: factory production, inspection, packaging, domestic transportation, export declaration, customs clearance, warehouse handling and finally international air or sea freight.

If one of these steps is delayed, the entire shipment may miss its scheduled flight or vessel.

The period before National Day is also traditionally one of the busiest shipping periods of the year. Many exporters try to complete shipments before the holiday, which may cause limited trucking capacity, crowded warehouses and reduced air or sea freight space.

For this reason, customers who need their goods shipped before the holiday should avoid waiting until the last one or two days.

We recommend completing production, documentation and customs arrangements before September 24 whenever possible.

Shipments that cannot leave China before the Mid-Autumn Festival may still be processed during September 28–30, but these three working days are expected to be busy. If the shipment cannot be completed during this window, it may need to wait until after the National Day holiday.

Normal operations will begin to resume from October 8, although some freight forwarders and warehouses may need several days to process the backlog accumulated during the holiday.

For customers purchasing titanium, nickel, copper, tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, niobium and other metal materials from China, please also allow enough time for cutting, machining, inspection, testing, MTC/COA preparation and export packaging.

Planning ahead is the best way to reduce China National Day shipping delays and avoid unnecessary changes to your delivery schedule.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional Chinese festival symbolizing family reunion and togetherness, while National Day is one of the most important public holidays in China. During this special season, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and partners around the world for your continued trust and support.

We wish you, your family and your team happiness, good health and success.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival and Happy National Day!
