Description

MMO titanium anode plate: specify the reaction first

A titanium anode plate combines a titanium substrate with an electrically active mixed metal oxide coating. The substrate provides the shape and current path; the coating supports the anodic reaction. Coating selection must match the electrolyte and duty, so an oxygen-evolving plate and a chlorine-evolving plate should not be treated as interchangeable.

This listing covers custom plate-format inquiries for electroplating, electrowinning, electrochlorination and other electrochemical systems. Confirm compatibility with your process before ordering. The listed price is per piece; the quotation must identify the dimensions, coated area, coating specification and connections for that piece.

Oxygen evolution or chlorine evolution?

Oxygen-evolving duties

For a process requiring oxygen evolution, provide the complete bath composition, acidity or pH, temperature and impurities. Iridium-based mixed oxide coatings, including Ir–Ta systems, are candidates for certain acidic oxygen-evolving duties. Their suitability must be reviewed for the actual bath and current waveform; this is not a universal rating for every electrolyte.

Chlorine-evolving duties

For brine or seawater electrochlorination, specify chloride concentration, water quality, flow and the required operating current. Review the RuO2 titanium anode for chlorine generation alongside the plate drawing. A chlorine-duty coating is not automatically suitable for an oxygen-duty replacement.

Operating limits and expected life

Agree current density, temperature, electrolyte composition, duty cycle and cleaning method together. State whether current density uses projected area or total active coated area, and whether one or both faces operate. Include peak current, pulse timing, polarity reversal and shutdown conditions where applicable.

Cell voltage depends on the complete cell, including electrode spacing, electrolyte resistance and the cathode. A single voltage range is not an anode performance specification. Likewise, coating thickness alone does not establish catalytic loading, current efficiency or service life. Request a defined test method and relevant operating conditions for any performance claim.

Coatings wear during use. Lifetime estimates should identify the operating conditions and failure criterion; an accelerated test is not automatically a field-life guarantee.

Manufacturing and inspection information

Review our MMO anode manufacturing guide for the sequence from substrate fabrication and surface preparation to coating and inspection. For your order, agree the drawing, material traceability, coating specification and inspection records before production.

If ASTM B265 is required, identify the applicable grade and edition for the titanium sheet or plate substrate. That material specification does not by itself certify the finished coating, electrochemical performance or suitability for the process. Request any required compliance documents explicitly.

Plate or mesh?

Choose geometry using the cell layout, flow path, gas release, stiffness and connection design. Compare MMO titanium anode mesh where an open structure is required. For a broader explanation of coating families and applications, read the MMO titanium anode technical guide.

Request a titanium anode plate quotation

Send your drawing and quantity, target reaction, full electrolyte composition, temperature, current and active area, operating schedule, expected service duty, connection details and delivery destination. Add the inspection documents required for acceptance.

Send a technical inquiry or email sales@niticu.com. Coating selection, available configurations, delivery terms and the final price are confirmed against the project requirements.
